Welcome to Combine week! The event is mostly over, but we're still going to see most of the skill players test over this weekend. Overall, it is perhaps the most important, all intensive job interview that any modern athlete endures in the world of sports.
NFL prospects are tested intellectually in multiple environments using a variety of methods, get subjected to a full spectrum of medical exams, interview with staff from several NFL teams and media members in every “free” moment they have, attend NFL Players Association meetings, and to top it all off they end up being physically tested side by side with the most gifted athletic specimens to ever grace planet Earth. All of this in five jam-packed days under non-stop prove-it-or-lose-it pressure.
Luckily, most of us don’t have to endure such pressure at the Combine this week. Instead, we can simply have a blast betting on many of those NFL prospects from the warm comfort of our mobile devices on Mojo!
We have more than 30 players for you to choose from competing to prove themselves in Indy: 20 of the running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends that are testing plus 14 of 15 quarterbacks. Check out the hype-machine Anthony Richardson (Florida), the polarizing Will Levis (Kentucky), the two-time Heisman Award finalist C.J. Stroud (Ohio State), and of course the preemptive favorite to be selected number one overall in Bryce Young (Alabama).
The beauty of Mojo is that prices can move around important events, news, and market buy/sell activity, not just a player’s objective stats. If your favorite player exceeds expectations or stands out above the crowd in multiple on-field athletic tests at the NFL Combine their value could rise!
But what’s a good time in the forty-yard dash? How about a good leap in the vertical or broad jump? And what about the agility drills: 20-yard shuttle and 3-cone drill?
You may already have a grasp on what’s “fast” in the forty. We could all guess that 40 inches is a good thing in the vertical. But let’s look at the averages (since the year 2000) for all five key NFL Combine athletic tests so we know what we’re looking at heading into the excitement:
- Forty-Yard Dash: 4.84 Seconds
- Vertical Jump: 31 Inches
- Broad Jump: 9 Feet 3 Inches
- 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.33 Seconds
- 3-Cone Drill: 7.15 Seconds
- Forty-Yard Dash: 4.56 Seconds
- Vertical Jump: 34.5 Inches
- Broad Jump: 10 Feet 10 Inches
- 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.27 Seconds
- 3-Cone Drill: 7.07 Seconds
- Forty-Yard Dash: 4.52 Seconds
- Vertical Jump: 35.5 Inches
- Broad Jump: 11 Feet 1 Inch
- 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.24 Seconds
- 3-Cone Drill: 6.98 Seconds
- Forty-Yard Dash: 4.78 Seconds
- Vertical Jump: 33 Inches
- Broad Jump: 9 Feet 7 Inches
- 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.37 Seconds
- 3-Cone Drill: 7.18 Seconds
There are always surprise performances every year that see their NFL Draft stock rise multiple rounds based mostly off this weekend alone. Who will it be? Which wide receiver will run a 4.3-second forty? Which tight end will jump through the roof? Which running backs will show make-you-miss agility? And most importantly, will you be the one who saw it coming and bet on their stock to rise on Mojo before it happened? Turn your sports knowledge into real money with Mojo today.
